EVENTS

27/11/2024 By Sally

Since last Friday students have been occupying Greenwich House in protest at the University's continued complicity in the Gaza Genocide and have now reestablished an encampment at the Senate House . A rally was also held on Saturday in support of the students. There are several ways people can support this ongoing action:

a) Please can everyone send this letter in support of the students?

On Thursday 28th November at Cambridge City Council's full meeting, from 6pm, a motion marking the UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People will be brought by 2 Green Party Councillors
https://democracy.cambridge.gov.uk/mgAi.aspx?ID=33836
We encourage people to come along to visibly show their support, flags and all. The meeting will likely go on late, and this particular motion may not be heard early, but it is important for local support and solidarity to be in evidence, so please come and stay as long as you can manage.
The entrance to the council chamber is via a side door to the Guildhall on Peas Hill.

Lots of events are coming up this week which we hope you will support . A number of these will be on Friday 29 November the UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. Please note that the Norman Finkelstein talk on the 29th has sold out, which is great news ; Tickets are still available for the 'From Ground Zero film' being shown in the evening and it would be good to have a full house for that if you can attend or encourage others to. The link is below for tickets.

A call out for cakes for the bake sale at the Families for Palestine Craft event on Saturday 7 December . If you can help please contact Emily - media@campalsoc.org
