The pharmaceutical company Teva is one of the largest companies in Israel. The Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement has called for a boycott of Teva drugs, to put pressure on Israel to stop its occupation of Palestinian land. It's possible for NHS patients to request that their prescription drugs are sourced from an alternative company.

Email Subject: Patient Preference – Teva Medicines
Email Body:
Dear Pharmacy Manager/Responsible Pharmacist
I am a patient registered with your pharmacy and request that, where clinically appropriate, medicines manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals Ltd. are not dispensed to me. Please record my preference on my NHS patient record.
This request is based on ethical concerns regarding Teva’s links to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land, including settlement-related activity and contributions to settler colonial state systems responsible for civilian mass killing in Gaza and the West Bank. Notably, a United Nations Commission of Inquiry has concluded that Israel’s actions in Gaza meet the legal criteria for genocide under international law. I do not wish my healthcare to be connected, directly or indirectly, to companies economically embedded in these actions.
I understand that patient safety comes first. I request that non-Teva alternatives be provided when possible and that I am informed if a Teva product cannot be avoided, so alternatives can be discussed with my prescriber.
Please confirm that this preference has been noted.
Kind regards
